Set your numbers, then roll.
"Other bonus" is for anything flat: +2 for each character helping you, for example. Bonus dice from your Focus or a recalled Experience are added to the total, but only the two main dice count for 6s and 1s.
The Six Results
- Brilliant: you beat the Difficulty and one of your two dice shows a 6, or you rolled double 6s. Yes, and something extra.
- Success: you beat the Difficulty with no 6 and no 1. Yes.
- Barely: you beat the Difficulty but a die shows a 1. Yes, but at a cost.
- Almost: you miss the Difficulty but a die shows a 6. No, but something goes your way.
- Failure: you miss with no 6 and no 1. No.
- Disastrous: you miss and a die shows a 1, or you rolled double 1s. No, and things get worse.
"Beat" means equal or higher. A 6 and a 1 together cancel out. Double 6s are Brilliant even if the total falls short, and double 1s are Disastrous even if it doesn't. Each Story Point you spend raises the result one level, but a roll that missed can only be raised as far as Barely. You can also accept a result one level worse to gain a Story Point.
